Can you beat It Takes Two with ONE person?

It Takes Two was such a pain to beat. Like, who designed this game?!? Why do you have to use two controllers to play unlike Skyrim or something? Someone in the mechanics department needs to be fired. I've beaten Elden Ring, I've beaten Fallout hardcore, and I've beaten QWOP, but never in all my years have I dealt with a game mechanic this frustrating. Why I oughtta go right down to Hazelight Studios and give 'em a piece of my mi-..... Wait what do you mean this game doesn't have single player??
